The
Upper Arlington Mens Lacrosse team got its first
taste of the Ohio
High School Lacrosse Association tournament
Thursday night and decided they might be hungrier
than they thought. The 3-time defending state
champs eliminated Thomas Worthington, 15-2 to
set up a Saturday evening match-up with Dublin
Coffman. The Rocks, coming off a 15-5 win over
Olentangy, will invade Marv Moorehead Stadium
at 5:30
Saturday night.
"Hopefully
we can stay the course, take care of our business
and move down the road," said UA Head Coach
Ted Wolford following the Bears win over the Cardinals.
"They came out in a zone and we made the
right reads and got our shots off." The Bears
built a 10-0 nothing lead at the half en route
to their 17th
win in 18 games in 2007. Wolford indicated a tired
Thomas Worthington team was playing its 4th game
in a week.
"We
did some key things in the first part of the game.
We started to move our feet in the first quarter.
We kept our sticks tight to the body, ran through
the checks and finished."
UA
defeated homestanding Coffman 10-3 April 11th
in
the team's first meeting of the season.
