December 7, 2006 - UAHS Indoor Lacrosse News
Indoor season has begun for the Golden Bears, which runs 14 weeks at the Continent.

UA is fielding five teams involving 70 players with two freshman teams, one all sophomore team and two upperclass teams. Now in their 12th season of indoor play, Wolford likes the benefits for the three-time defending state champion Bears. "Indoor promotes better stick skills because you play in tighter spaces and it also helps footwork because there are no long poles. It teaches everyone to play defense and helps teach transition."

Wolford said other positives include onditioning and comraderie. "We have so many kids try out, it gives the coaches a chance to see them play and determine how they're progressing before our tryouts."
The Bears will begin coaches outdoor conditioning February 19, and the first day with sticks is February 26.
