May 12, 2008 - GREAT ROADIE TO THE QUEEN CITY

The Golden Bears stayed hot with wins over St. Xavier and Indian Hill on their recent road trip to Cincinnati.

"We were able to put two days together back to back," said Wolford. "It was good to be able to play one team, a pretty good St. X team, after driving down two hours then the next day play a fresh team (Indian Hill) who had scouted us the night before. We were sluggish at first in that game but we began to solve the mysteries of their abilities and talent. We started to see a chink in their armor and got on a run."

Senior captain Alex Benedick contributed 15 saves against Indian Hill. "That turned out to be an up and down game, a lot of unsettled situations," added Wolford. "We were able to settle down in the second half."

The 8-3 win over Indian Hill on Saturday afternoon was preceded by an 11-5 win over homestanding St. Xavier on Friday night. UA had eight players with points against St. Xavier and seven players against Indian Hill.
